WrestleMania 41 Wrap-Up: Honored to Be Named a WWE Community Champion

Reflecting on this month’s events, I find myself overwhelmed with gratitude and hope. With immense pride and deep appreciation, I share the news that Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada was named a WWE Community Champion. This honor comes with worldwide recognition and a generous $25,000 grant to support our mission. This moment is a celebration of our families, our team, and the incredible community that surrounds us.

A Recognition That Fills Our Hearts

Being selected as one of only four WrestleMania Community Champions by WWE is a recognition that we do not take lightly. For over four decades, Candlelighters has stood by families in Southern Nevada facing the unimaginable: a childhood cancer diagnosis. This honor from WWE validates the tireless work of our staff and volunteers and the courage of our families. To be seen on a stage as grand as WrestleMania—in front of a global audience and right here at home in Las Vegas—is truly humbling.

Our journey with WWE began in March with an unforgettable visit from WWE Superstars Big E and Rey Mysterio to our forever home. They brought smiles, laughter, and WWE Toy Title belts, reminding our kids what it means to feel seen and celebrated. From there, we joined WWE’s Community Day at Mojave High School on April 16. Then, we were honored live at WrestleMania 41 Night Two on April 20, where Candlelighters took the spotlight at Allegiant Stadium.

The Power of Partnership

The $25,000 grant from WWE will have a lasting impact on the families we serve. It allows us to expand our support programs, enhance the quality of life for children undergoing treatment, and ease the financial burdens that too often come with a diagnosis. Whether it’s emotional counseling, utility assistance, or family-focused events, every dollar helps us let families focus on what matters most: loving their child.

WWE’s Community Champions initiative, launched in 2021, is about more than a title; it’s about legacy, community, and meaningful impact. We are honored to stand alongside an organization that shares our values and believes in amplifying grassroots efforts to transform lives.

Looking Toward the Future

With WWE’s support and the continued strength of our community, I am more excited than ever about what’s ahead for Candlelighters. We are dreaming bigger, building stronger programs, and reaching more families needing our services. I envision new initiatives that focus on the wellness of the whole family, with a focus on mental health and support. Candlelighters will continue to help families at every stage of the childhood cancer journey—and now, thanks to this honor, those dreams are within reach.

On behalf of everyone at Candlelighters, I extend our deepest thanks to WWE. You’ve given our families more than a moment in the spotlight—you’ve given them hope. And to every Candlelighters supporter, thank you for standing with us. We are, and always will be, in this fight together.
