Angela Berg

Angela Berg, RN, BSN – Patient Advocate
As patient advocate for Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada, Angela Berg works with the parents of diagnosed children as well as health providers to make sure each family receives the best possible medical treatment, and is on-hand to assist families with the implementation of treatment plans and coordination of insurance benefits.
For the past two years, Angela served as the Chair for the Southern Nevada Immunization Coalition in which she helped resurrect the organization that was inactive since the late 1990s and during that time immunization rates in Nevada for children plummeted. Under her guidance, Angela was able to breathe life back in to the Coalition to make a difference in the life and health of children every day in Nevada, and has since been able to establish funding for the organization and create staff positions.
Angela also brings a wide range of healthcare insurance industry knowledge to Candlelighters as she was the pediatric program manager for Southwest Medical Associates, the healthcare delivery system subsidiary of Sierra Health Services, which is the largest insurer in southern Nevadan. Angela was responsible for clinics and the outpatient case management program for Health Plan of Nevada.
Angela became a nurse in 1991 in Iowa and began working in pediatrics in 1992 where she fell in love working with kids.
